I wrote “Mommy Is Tired” as a heartfelt journey through the unspoken emotions of motherhood. Encapsulating the raw, beautiful, and often exhausting moments that define a mother’s experience. I wanted to delve into the complexities of maternal love, the struggle to balance selfhood with caregiving, and the relentless cycle of joy and fatigue that accompanies raising children. Over four years in the making, this book is an ode to the unsung heroes, showcasing the rollercoaster of emotions, the resilience, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children. It’s a compelling testament to the shared experiences of moms navigating the incredible highs and lows of nurturing a family. “Mommy Is Tired” is a profound tribute to the strength, vulnerability, and unwavering love that defines motherhood.
I could not have completed this beautiful book without the most talented painter, Katie Berggren. I have been following Katie and her art since I started this blog in 2012. Katie focuses her works exclusively on motherhood and being a mother and I knew right away I had to invite her to do this project with me.
